After over three hours of debate the GCSA Forum unanimously passed a second resolution following veto of the initial resolution last Saturday.

Student Body President, Davis Metzger, took questions regarding his veto from both the Representatives and from the audience, composed primarily of students. Metzger’s veto held unanimously.

This resolution differs from the previous primarily in that it contains no direct reference to President Lindsay or his chapel address on Nov. 6 and its inclusion of action items. These include calls for the GCSA Student Life committee to begin hosting events on the topic of human sexuality and theology.

The resolution also, “further calls for the administration to organize a panel on human sexuality and relevant theology from both affirming and non-affirming understandings of Scripture by the end of the 2018 Spring semester, that will become annual if deemed successful by members of the forum of the 2017-2018 academic year.”

Despite the nearly five and a half hour duration of the forum, the room remained mostly full of students who wished to provide input towards the new resolution. Following a ten-minute recess for prayer, the

Videos of the Forum and the full text of the resolution are available on the Gordon College Student Association Facebook page.
